Before fitting make sure the surface to be tiled is clean and dry with no loose plaster or paint etc.
For dusty surfaces such as bare plasterboard or MDF it is recommended to prime the surface with a PVA based primer.
Apply a thin layer of adhesive to the wall using a serrated spatula or trowel then just gently press on each tile noting the grain direction as you go.
Use the supplied plastic tile spacers to space the tiles evenly. (These can be left in situ and grouted over)
Leave the tiles for about 24 hours before grouting.
Grouting.
Most types of ceramic tile grout are suitable for stainless steel tiles. Always follow the instruction on the grout container. Please be very careful removing any excess grout from the surface of the tiles as some grouts are very abrasive and can actually scratch the tile surface.
Cutting.
If needed the tiles can be cut with a hacksaw or jigsaw fitted with a fine tooth metal cutting blade. Most DIY type ceramic tile cutting machines fitted with a diamond cutting disc will also cut stainless steel tiles.
Cleaning stainless steel tiles.
Always use a soft cloth to clean the tiles. Never use a scourer or similar type of abrasive material as this could eventually scratch the surface finish.
These mdf backed stainless steel wall tiles will stick to most surfaces including concrete, plaster, plasterboard, wood, metal and ceramic. It is recommended to use a good quality waterproof “No Nails” type adhesive such as unibond no more nails or evo-stik liquid nails etc.
In addition to this please also read any instructions you receive with the adhesive and grout you are going to use.
